Funding

The project is part of the highly endowed DFG priority program "SPP 1921: Intentional Forgetting in Organizations" and is funded by the DFG with 500,000 Euros for the first three years.

The following aspects are being investigated in this and 8 other projects throughout Germany:

  • To make the mechanisms of human forgetting usable for a technical and organizational context.
  • To further develop existing organizational theories with regard to the question of how a fit between the processes, employees, technologies and structures of the organization and the amount of information that is generated internally and externally of the organization can be established by enabling the information systems in organizations to forget.
  • Interdisciplinarily develop new methods and transmission paths for organizations to find the balance between constantly growing amounts of stored information and information reduction through forgetting.
