Decision Making & Trust

How do different factors influence performance, trust, and strain in decision making?

We all make many decisions every day. In the process, we weigh the pros and cons as well as the possible consequences and finally decide on one of the alternatives. For example, you are deciding right now whether it is "worthwhile" to continue reading this text.

We want to investigate how decisions are made and how information systems support these decision processes in a new study in the "Getrost-Vergessen" project. Primarily, this study is about the manipulation of the decision-making process based on different factors and its effects on performance, confidence and stress. At the end of the study, subjects will receive an overview of their decisions and a performance evaluation of their performance. The duration of the study is approximately 20 - 30 minutes.

If you are interested in participating in the study yourself, you can do so via the following link:

https://survey.getrost-vergessen.de

The survey consists of 2 parts of 10-15min each.

1) In the first part you will be given two smaller tasks. In these, you access an information system with data tables and try to determine the requested information.

2) In the second part you access the information system again. This time you take on the role of a production planner. You will try to find the optimal delivery quantity for a number of subsidiaries based on demand forecasts.

In addition, we ask you to note the following:
